Unlock your potential!POSITION SUMMARY: The Endoscopy Technician supports the gastroenterologist and other members of the endoscopy team to facilitate patient care flow within the department. Primarily the task and responsibilities are related to the procedure rooms, which include maintenance and cleaning of endoscopes and related equipment, ensure proper handling of specimens, and ordering and maintaining appropriate par levels of Endoscopy supplies in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Endo technician utilizes initiative, demonstrates flexibility and strives to maintain a steady level of productivity. The experienced Endo Tech may participate in the orientation and mentoring of new staff members. The Endoscopy department is staffed from 0630 to 1500 Monday through Friday, with on call requirements to cover 24 hour service.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. High School Diploma or equivalentLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:* BLS certificate* EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:* Previous experience in a patient care area or Endoscopy preferredHCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community. We have the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region.
