We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Tech to join our team!

This is a PRN day shift position, plus call. Experience with advanced procedures (ERCP, double balloon, EUS) required. Under the direction of the Registered nurse, the Endoscopy/GI Tech is responsible for the care of the endoscopy patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of the endoscopy case and the endoscopy suites.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Tech to join our team! This is a part-time day shift position, plus call. Experience with advanced procedures (ERCP, double balloon, EUS) required. Under the direction of the Registered nurse, the Endoscopy/GI Tech is responsible for the care of the endoscopy patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of the endoscopy case and the endoscopy suites.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in collecting data (eg, vital signs)

  • Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each individual endoscopy procedure

  • Assists the Perioperative Registered Nurse with the implementation of the plan of care

  • Assists the physician and the Perioperative Registered Nurse during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/GI related procedures while maintaining an orderly and clean endoscopy procedure table

  • Demonstrates competence in care of specimens and accurately handles specimens at all times

  • Respond to emergency situations as directed by physician and the Registered Nurse

  • Cleans and prepares room between procedures and after last case, restocks supplies, when necessary and organizes effectively for end of case clean up Cleans and maintains equipment according to standards and infection control policy and procedures

  • Facilitates an effective day to day operational schedule within the Endoscopy Suite to provide efficient flow and completion of schedule

  • Represents the department in all aspects of customer service

  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards set forth by professional organizations and employers

  • Performs all other related duties and responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire

  • Certified Endoscopy Technician preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years of advanced endoscopy procedures experience (including ERCP, double balloon and EUS) in an acute care hospital setting required

  • Ability to be on-call, including nights, weekends and holidays
