Essential Functions

Clean endoscopy scopes according to manufacture guidelines.

Leak testing- to determine if any openings in external surface and internal channels would permit fluid to enter the scope.

Manual cleaning of endoscope, after a successful leak test- insertion of brushes to clean debris, attach scope buddy, then rinse.

Place scopes in high level disinfection or sterilizer- automated machine: program the scope number, patient identifier, MD, operator number, and quality check of control passed.

Inspect endoscopes, accessories, and associated equipment for integrity, function, and cleanliness.

Store endoscopes in closed cabinet without touching, and labeled with expiration tag- scopes are good for 5 days, storage cabinets must be cleaned weekly and chux pad changed daily.

Performs Quality Checks daily as required and changes filters according to manufacture guidelines. Documentation recorded of all Quality Controls kept in ENDO.

Wears PPE at all times.

Maintains stock and supply PAR levels.

Reports any mechanical failure and needed repairs of equipment in a timely manner.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS): Required

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

VIEW JOBS 3/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-12T00:00 Under the general direction of the Operating Room Director /Coordinator, is responsible for setting up O.R. for emergency cases, scrubbing cases, checking, ordering and putting away supplies. Assists in Central Sterile Supply, as needed. Scrubs on cases assigned for the day. * Maintains sterile technique. * Maintains stock, checks out-dates and supplies to PAR level. * Performs daily and weekly cleaning in surgical suite. * Reports mechanical failure and needed repairs of equipment and instruments in a timely manner. Washes and prepares instruments for sterilization. * Sterilizes instruments as needed. * Assists in CSS, as needed. * Is knowledgeable and possesses the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs, growth and development of patients in any of the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics. To maintain on call status and report to GCH within 30 minutes of notification Current CPR. Certified CST preferred. Lifepoint Hospitals Georgetown KY
