The Practice/Business Manager is responsible for providing overall direction and management of multi-physician multi-location practice, including management of financial and statistical information. Utilizes and controls time, material, and personnel resources.

Initiates and administers performance management programs. Delegates work to make efficient use of all resources. Fosters open exchange of information.

Sees that all function of the office revenue cycle are operationalized, including scheduling, registration, and charge capture, coding and charge entry. Prepares month end and year end reports. Accounts payable, payroll, H-R functions.

Personnel recruitment and retention. Third party payor liaison- oversees physician credentialing. Responsible for performance improvement and customer satisfaction.

Annual budget development. Plan, develop and implement policies and procedures that relate to the physician practices. Safety/security updates.

Active member of designated committees. Maintains /renews physician/staff licensing requirements.

Actively promotes a Lean work culture by performing team member duties to encourage consistent use of LEAN principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. 4.Leads at least one process improvement initiative for department per year; participates in at least one LEAN project per year outside of department.

  1. Introductory, transfer and periodic appraisals are required to be completed timely adhering to performance management guidelines. All Performance Management (introductory, transfer and periodic appraisals) must be completed in a designated electronic format.

5.Submits timely variance reports that display knowledge of expenses and demonstrates continual plans to reduce variances; operates each year more effectively than one before.

6.Stretches capital resources by extending life of existing assets.

7.Coordinates the selection of vendors through established internal procurement procedures in an effort to drive down supplier costs while maintaining quality standards.

c. Supports performance improvement initiatives that have been identified and implemented in support of the mission, vision and True North of Excela Health.

2.Manages safety of personnel, patients, and families.

a. Insures all staff incorporates national patient safety goals into practice.

b. Holds required fire, disaster, utilities, and safety drills.

c. Identifies and insures resolution of issues involving the facilities, electrical, grounds management, security systems, physical plant, communication systems and all additional areas that affect safe operations of the office

3.Insures continuous compliance with all regulatory agencies.

a. Maintains continuous readiness in preparation for inspections.

b. Insures all licensing is current.

4.Manages time and resources effectively.

a. Manages staffing schedule to insure adequate coverage

b. Delegates responsibilities effectively to insure all levels of office functions are given adequate resources

c. Participates as a representative of the physician practices on committees at the organizational level.
