  • High school or GED (required)

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred)

  • BLS (required)

  • Student Nurse Techs must have completed 1 year of Medical/Surgical Clinical

  • Experience as a nursing assistant or phlebotomy (preferred)

Your Role: As an Endo Technician, you will work with the dynamic team in Endoscopy.

  • Demonstrate necessary practical, technical or specialized knowledge and skills required for the role of the GI/Endoscopy technician in accordance with facility policy and procedures

  • Assist with maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization/disinfection of instruments and equipment. Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care

  • Responsible for disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment. (Maintain daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle, perform biological tests, test strips quality controls, and complete log, as per facility policies)

  • Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies. Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepares rooms for next case

  • Assist the physician with interventions as indicated (positioning, preparing specimens, GI tract tattooing, etc.)

  • Demonstrate appropriate aseptic techniques as indicated by interventions (hand hygiene, and equipment preparation)

  • Assist in the maintenance, care and labeling of specimens

Assures that the needs of the patients and physicians are met while performing these procedures and other related tasks. He/she Quality Improvement and safety programs to meet the goals and purposes of the Radiology Department. Qualifications EducationMust have 1 year of formal education in school of sonography or 1 year related radiology experience.Licensure/CertificationARRT national certification preferred. Must be BLS certified.ExperienceMust have 1 year of formal education in school of sonography or 1 year related radiology experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to demonstrate interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, all health care team members, visitors and significant others (15% of time). Must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of radiology and ultrasound procedures and equipment usage, apply new imaging concepts and initiate change (15% of time). Must have analytical abilities necessary to determine method of providing the requested images understanding the physiological cause and effect of diseases based on the patient's age and condition, remaining optimistic and adapting to stressful situations (30% of time). Must have substantial physical capabilities in order to transport, lift and position patients and operate radiographic equipment (20% of time). Must have substantial special perception to visualize body parts in relation to each other. Form perception is necessary to determine acceptability of images. Manual dexterity is necessary to adjust controls and transducers to proper patient and film orientation. (20% of time) Must have radiology specific knowledge of growth and development relevant to the ages of all the patient population served. Must have radiology specific knowledge of diseases and healthcare needs of the patient population served.Physical DemandsStanding for long periods of time (8 to 12 hours) Walking for long periods of time (8 to 12 hours) to include moving about the work area, hospital and/or campus as needed Sitting for extended periods (8 to 12 hours) Must be able to bend, stoop and reach/lift above your head Sight: must be able to read documentation in a variety of formats such as items in print or electronically.
