Ending Hunger Corps, Good Shepherd Food Bank Outreach VISTA

Good Shepherd Food Bank believes that data is critical currency in the fight to end hunger in Maine. We have the bold goal of ending hunger in Maine by 2030 and access to and dissemination of mission-critical data is just one way that Good Shepherd Food Bank is working to meet that goal.

The Data and Evaluation VISTA will expand the capacity of the Research and Evaluation department by providing data analysis, reporting, and evaluation support. By working directly with agencies to address their individual needs, analyzing internal and external data sources, and participating in evaluation activities, the VISTA will help to move our work forward. These activities will help our network measure its collective impact, allocate resources more efficiently, and successfully drive social change through data-driven stories to bust myths about hunger and the charitable food network.

The Data and Evaluation VISTA will gain experience and skills in communication to a variety of stakeholders, data management and analysis, evaluation, and reporting. It is anticipated that the VISTA will also design an individual food insecurity or hunger research project based on their interests and expertise, as well as network need. Good Shepherd Food Bank is dedicated to supporting VISTAs and offers a variety of extra benefits, including a monthly $1,000 housing stipend, opportunities for remote work, clothing allowance to purchase GSFB branded clothing, and reimbursement for meals and mileage.
