Ending Hunger Corps Community College Food Security VISTA
One quarter of Community college students are food insecure - you can help change that! As the Community College Food Security VISTA you will expand the capacity of the Food Pantry and decrease the number of of people in the EMCC community who are food insecure by expanding the current garden and investigate creating a second garden.
You will expand the capacity of the food pantry and the garden by writing grants and educate the college community about the programs available to them. And you will create greater sustainability for food security on campus by recruiting, training and supervisory both work- study students and volunteers, and increase the amount and type of items in the food pantry through new local partnerships.
