Job Description
The End-User Device and Network Support position is expected to assist system users by responding to tickets and queries in order to solve technical issues and maintain an organized operational environment. The technician supports end-user hardware such as; desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, software applications, and additional peripherals. The applicant should have a basic understanding of common computing and networking principles, be able to quickly understand new technical concepts, and present sound judgement when resolving system, hardware, and application issues.
Building and maintaining trust is fundamental to this position and requires the technician to organize and prioritize a timely response to client requests while operating in a fluctuating operational environment. The support technician is a customer facing position that requires professional interaction at all organizational levels. The technician should be able to provide written and verbal communication of technical concepts to peers, end-users, and leadership.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist vendors, peers, and leadership with operational functionality and efficiency
Provide technical support to end-user computational devices and peripherals
Configure, install, and maintain end-user software systems and applications
Uphold information security and compliance requirements
Develop and follow maintenance plans to minimize failure events
Monitor system performance and identify issue trends
Update and maintain end-user device inventory tracking systems
Assist with network connectivity issues
Coordinate with vendors to provide end-user technical support
Ensure operating system durability by applying updates
Assess and forecast functional needs to regulate system purchases
Resolve hardware and network connectivity issues
Assist with technical upgrades and system maintenance
Support system testing and deployment
Running and terminating Cat5e cable.
Providing phone support.
Assisting on the Help Desk
Document technical procedures
