Central Regional Hospital

We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician II that will function as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The primary purpose of this position is transporting patients and medical information to other healthcare facilities and internal clinics for services and treatment.

The normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

  • NC Emergency Medical Technician Certification

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Working knowledge of the needs of the population served

  • Ability to document clear and concise notes

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR and other required credentials

Physical Requirements:

Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience;

or

an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus (effective 8/2/22)

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
