The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Health Care Technician-II (HCT-II) is responsible for transporting residents via convalescent van or car to and from medical visits to other health care agencies.   They are also responsible for providing basic nursing and personal care to assigned residents on their assigned unit.

   This position is considered mandatory, which means that employees are required to report to work during adverse weather and emergency conditions.  The EMT/ HCT-II provided direct resident care when not involved in the transportation of the residents.  The EMT/HCT-II is supervised by the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).

  • Experience in basic resident care procedures.

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
