Job Description

Summary

The EMT Cat Driver provides snowcat transportation between the base area & restaurant & acts as first responder in case of emergency situations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lift and carry items onto the Snowcat and pack securely

  • Operate the snowcat as needed to provide transportation to guests & employees between the base area and restaurant

  • Ensure adherence to the designated route and keep in communication with other on mountain departments regarding any changes to route required by mountain operations

  • Assist restaurant employees with providing drinks and blankets to guests as they load the snowcat

  • Ensure guests are comfortable for the ride to and from the restaurant

  • Be prepared to act as first responder in case of a medical emergency - including evacuation of restaurant & communicating with emergency services if needed.

  • Provide or arrange for transportation to the base area for anyone in need of medical assistance

  • Maintain emergency equipment in the snowcat and at the restaurant - to include fire extinguishers, AED's

  • Communicate with restaurant manager regarding safety concerns

  • Ensure snowcat is kept in good condition, fully fueled and that the snowcat operation log is filled out completely to document the shift. Report any mechanical issues or damage immediately

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • EMT certified and up to date

  • Current valid Driver's License with ability to operate a variety of vehicles including stick shift, snowcat, snowmobile required

  • TIPS Certification preferred

  • College degree preferred

  • Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required

  • Competent with computer programs such as Microsoft Office

Supervision Given and Received:

Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of Restaurant Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time

  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
