Position Title: EMT-Paramedic I/ED-Tech # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ## Department:
Ambulance Purpose: Primary responsibilities are to provide prompt and effective emergency medical care to patients of all ages in emergency and non-emergency situations who require stabilization and/or resuscitation as a result of illness or injury in the field. #Provides care as set forth by the system protocols. #Included in this care is administering medication to patients of all ages as needed per protocol, accurate documentation of the care provided. #In scene management, will follow management structure as set forth by the Federal NIMS standards. #Another primary responsibility is precepting students. As a teaching hospital, Genesis Medical Center has a relationship with Blackhawk College and other educational facilities and is responsible for assisting with education of EMT-Paramedic and Basic students in the prehospital and Emergency Department setting. #Is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, and restocking of any equipment that has been utilized within the ambulance. #In addition, functions as an Emergency Department Technician when not serving in the EMT-Paramedic role in the field.

The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities.
