Range: $15.00 based on experience
Position Summary: Clarkson is looking to hire full time EMTs to assist with summer camps from June 1st - August 1st 2024. Position opportunities include full-time, part-time and flexible scheduling. Employees will be expected to assist in a variety of tasks including but not limited to check-ins, administering medications daily, reports, daily care and maintenance of infirmary, safety checks, and more. This temporary position is located in Potsdam, NY.
General Purpose: Working as part of an EMT team.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide basic emergency care on campus for individuals participating in summer athletic and/or academic programs
Transport and/or accompany program participants to local emergency room, after hours clinic and/or medical providers as needed for treatment and follow-up
Travel to another local college for 2-3 weeks of the summer to meet their EMT summer needs (for this travel you will need your own personal vehicle)
Under the direction of the Head EMT/Health Director, oversee medication administration and security
Provide health orientations to staff, program participants and their families
Assist Head EMT/Health Director in screening program participant health forms and records and compiling basic participant statistics, logs and other documentation in timely and accurate manner
Communicate with staff about health regulations
Accompany program participants on field trips as assigned
Recording all contacts and involvement with program participants in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with inventory of infirmary supplies if needed
Patrol campus and residence halls as assigned to help monitor programs and participants
Assist in breaking down temporary infirmary as assigned, including securing supplies, records and medications, turning in keys, timecards and other program materials, and completing documentation
Walk the buildings to ensure health and safety of summer guests
Provide on-site guest services and assistance to Conference attendees
Assist with check-in of guests and handle any hotel-related service questions and issues
Assist in making arrangements for check-in prior to guest arrival
Assist in the coordination of room cleaning and linen turnover
Assist in the set-up and use of University resources by Conference clients
Act as on-site technicians during events when needed
Head EMT will be offered to one of the candidates based on experience
Assists with other projects, administrative duties, and initiatives as assigned
Performance of above duties require you to be at work on Campus

Education:
Minimal Qualifications:
All EMTs must have a minimum of the basic level EMT certification and current CPR certifications acceptable by the New York State Department of Health.
Must have valid drivers license and be approved by Clarkson University to drive a university vehicle unless specifically excused by the university, this includes clearance of driving records and passing an online driving test.
Candidates must also be cleared through the New York State Sex Abuse Registry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced EMT certification desirable
Experience working with summer camps and/or children aged 8 18 preferred
Experience working in some capacity for Clarkson University preferred

Must be able to lift 25 pounds, EMTs carry supply bags as needed
