We are seeking a(n) EMT-A Paramedic for Dollywood Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand.

They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right EMT-A/Paramedic checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Treatment of injured or ill Hosts and Guests in emergency and non-emergency situations in accordance with The Dollywood Company protocols and procedures.

  • Provide patient assessments and determine if a patient is able to remain on park or at work with medical treatment provided in accordance with The Dollywood Company protocols and procedures.

  • Operate golf carts, mini-ambulance and company vehicles for emergency response or transportation of Hosts and Guests.

  • Maintain documentation which includes writing electronic reports according to procedure with accurate, clear and concise wording and correct spelling.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office programs, Origami, and the use of templates for writing reports.

  • Maintain Park and patient confidentiality, following HIPPA and The Dollywood Company guidelines.

  • Utilize positive verbal communication skills with Hosts, Guests and outside medical service providers.

  • Keep work area clean, stocked and ready for use at all times.

  • Assist in triage and/or park evacuation as needed.

  • Communicate well with patients in a clear and understanding manner.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding all areas of the park including exit gates, back entrances to rides and inside buildings in the event of an emergency.

  • Complete annual training with Ride Operations to be proficient in all ride evacuation procedures.

  • Spend ample time on park interacting with Hosts and Guests, greeting Guests with a smile, offering them assistance as needed.

  • Conduct Host pre-employment, post-accident, random, and reasonable suspicion drug screens and alcohol tests according to The Dollywood Company procedure.

  • Assist in the maintenance of park cleanliness by picking up litter, etc.

  • Assist Safety Management in other non-first aid duties as assigned to support division goals.

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent, Required.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Current TN State EMT-A or Paramedic license, Required.

  • Copies of current certifications, Required.

  • Three (3) years of field experience as an EMT-A and/or Paramedic, preferred.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use BLS equipment required.

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

  • Basic computer skills required, to include proficiency with Microsoft Word and ability to learn Origami for report writing.

  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Able to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities.

  • Able to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time.

  • Able to operate/drive a company vehicle with valid TN driver's license.

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy.

  • Able to lift, move, and/or carry up to 25 pounds alone and 200 pounds, with assistance.

  • Able to tolerate temperatures of 0 to 140 degrees.

  • Able to work outdoors.

  • Available to work at least 5 days/month, most of which will be weekends.

  • Must be able to wear a full body fall protection harness & carry safety equipment in order to negotiate ride catwalks, lifts, platforms and others areas necessary to complete ride and building evacuations at heights of up to 200 feet.

  • Must be able to tolerate and use chemicals such as cleaning supplies.

  • Ability to learn and utilize online scheduling program required (ShiftPlanning.)
