JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Emergency Medical Services Captain; considerable independent judgment, initiative and understanding must be exercised in interpreting orders, rules, and regulations in meeting emergency situations for the Emergency Medical Services Department, contracted, and other city departments. Work is performed in accordance with established rules, regulations and instructions from superior officers who review work through reports, conferences and observations of efficiency.
Supply Clerk directly engages in the protection of life and property of the citizens, by assuring that all EMS units are fully supplied, within the Emergency Medical Services Department service area and the daily operations of all agencies directly partnered with the Emergency Medical Services Department.
Essential Functions

1.Maintain regular, reliable, and prompt attendance, physically present at work.
2.Duties and Responsibilities. The Supply Clerk is required to work with minimal to little supervision, making complex decisions in stressful situations.
Main Activities:
Maintain daily operations of EMS Operations.
Operate ambulance equipment and respond to radio transmissions
Daily Inventory of supply room
Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors etc.)
Write and submit accurate requests for supplies
Ensure all City of Pharr rules and regulations are always being followed.
Ensure all TDSHS / DEA / Federal rules and regulations are always being followed.
Perform related duties as required.
Become familiar and proficient with, inventory control and ordering software.
Inspects specially equipped emergency vehicle, cleans equipment to ensure its safe operation, and replenishes medical supplies, fuel, and fluids.
Be familiar with or become familiar with City of Pharr EMS service area.
Be familiar with or become familiar with location of all hospitals and free-standing ER's.
Must be familiar with EMS medical supplies.
Ability to obtain or complete training to meet job tasks at hand.
Required Licenses or Certificates
1.AHA Basic Life Support Certification
2.Must have a valid insurance class "C" Texas Driver's License
3.Must have ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
3.Graduation of high school or GED equivalent required
4.Must have authorization to work in the United states
5.Must submit to and pass an employment drug and alcohol screening
6.Must be able to pass physical abilities test/post offer of employment
7.Must not have been adjudicated guilty or deferred for any charge of family/workplace violence.
8.Possess strong computer skills, organization skills, communications skills, and multi-tasking skills
9.Ability to learn communications codes and signals.
Must be able to distinguish between different colors
Report to work on time and perform duties on a timely fashion
Work with a minimum of daily supervision
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to follow City rules and regulations
Ability to work sole and with a team
