Short Description
Assumes overall responsibility of overseeing EMS outreach activities in support of Cooper's trauma, stroke, STEMI, pediatric, and other institute or program, outreach requirements.The EMS Outreach Manager will have specific focus and accountability for the development and implementation of short and long range strategic outreach goals in support of EMS and community initiatives in Cape May County.Plan, develop, organize, and deliver EMS and community educational programming focused to the needs of the target audience. These educational programs may be identified through performance improvement (PI) activities, Cooper program specific content or through direct interactions with EMS agencies and community stakeholders.
Collaborates with, and augments, existing Cooper community outreach stakeholders and initiatives when appropriate.Partners with emergency department leadership to identify trends and opportunities for improving prehospital relationships and quality outcomes.Responsible for building and maintaining strong positive relationships with EMS agencies and community stakeholders. This position focuses on EMS relationships, education, performance Improvement, regulatory issues and business building opportunities through collaboration with local EMS and community stakeholders.Represent Cooper University Health Care in local, regional, state and national EMS Organizations.Responsibilities will include educational, marketing and public relation activities relative to Pre-hospital care providers.Works collaboratively with internal Cooper departments to enhance educational opportunities and to disseminatepolicies and/or protocols specific to that department to prehospital providers.Participates in multidisciplinary PI programs representing prehospital care.
Experience Required
Minimum of 4 years paramedic experience, minimum of 5 years pre-hospital experience.
Minimum 3 years EMS management experience.
Public speaking/teaching experience essential.
Must possess a thorough understanding of Southern NJ regional EMS operations, standards and protocols.
Must possess the ability to express ideas effectively by oral and written means.
Ability to plan, organize and manage resources and initiatives within prescribed timeframes
Ability to work in a self-directed environment with minimal supervision
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Business or health care related field
License/Certification Requirements
Current NJ Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) or NJ Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) certification
Current ACLS certification; Current PALS, or PEPP or EPC certification; Current BLS certification, BLS Instructor certification preferred
