  • Gainesville/Hall county campus is conducting a search for the following full-time, benefits-eligible, FLSA-exempt salaried position. POSITION: EMS Education Clinical Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Dean of Allied Health

SALARY: Upper $60's, depending on education, qualifications, and experience

EFFECTIVE: September 2021

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The EMS Education Clinical Coordinator is responsible for developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education program as well as teaching courses in the EMS Education curriculum. The clinical coordinator will work with clinical sites to build and maintain relationships, maintain clinical contracts, place students in the clinical setting, and ensure clinical objectives are being achieved by the students. The clinical coordinator will assist the EMS Education program director with the CoAEMSP accreditation process. The clinical coordinator must be able to work a flexible schedule and handle administrative responsibilities related to clinical site management, student advisement, and accreditation. Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine technology or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university;

  • Current licensure as a Nationally Registered Paramedic and state of Georgia Paramedic (or ability to obtain reciprocity to obtain state license);

  • Level III EMS instructor license;

  • Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college
  • 40 hours weekly;
  • Ability to teach at any College campus where Paramedicine, EMT, and/or AEMT classes are taught;

  • Knowledge of course standards and skill/expertise in subject area

  • Ability to understand, accept and follow directions

  • Skilled in the operation of computers

  • Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare lesson materials

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff

  • Ability to keep up-to-date on advances in clinical medicine as it relates to EMS and emergency medicine, as well as up-to-date on updates and changes in EMS education policies and instructional guidelines

  • Ability to utilize high fidelity simulation manikins

  • Ability to keep up-to-date on hardware/software used in teaching, clinical performance tracking and state databases for EMS students and to assist in making informed decisions in this area
