Job Summary:

Receives and processes 911 emergency and non-emergency calls and assists in the daily operations of medical transportation. Provides coordination for ALS, BLS and Special Transportation along with other support functions of the communication and transportation division.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

  • Answers 911 and interfacility transfer calls in the Emergency Services Communication Center.

  • Provides coordination for ALS, BLS and Special Transportation.

  • Determines level of care using medical triage with caller.

  • Provides caller with medical direction in emergencies prior to on scene arrival.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0 to 2 years Emergency Medical Services Dispatch or Healthcare (Medical Assistant, Emergency Room Technician) preferred
  • required Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) within 30 Days
