Employment Trainer

AbilityPath is hiring an Employment Trainer to join our team!

The Employment Trainer provides engaging, community-based instruction in support of high-quality participant services. This position entails providing engaging instruction out in the community in support of high-quality participant services. Looking for candidates with an interest in the culinary field and supporting a group of participants.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals; instruction may be community based, on-site or provided virtually.

• Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement

• Oversee case management and all related documentation and reports

• Supervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activities

• Responsible for travel training participants using public transportation and the safety and well-being of participants while out on community outings

• Participate in agency functions and attend case management meetings

• Maintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service with external parties, families, care givers, and participants

• Drive agency vehicles as needed

• Transport participants to activities and events; provide route service as needed

• Ability to provide engaging instruction to participants with various developmental levels, skill sets, and behaviors

• Ability to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagement

• Passion for the mission, by believing in the abilities of people with disabilities

• Awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in supporting people with developmental disabilities

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Education Degree in applicable field

• Specialized certificate

• Applicable work or volunteer experience

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years of a Valid California Driver's License/ID

• 3 years of a Clean Driving Record (if applicable)

• Proof of negative TB test results

• Verification of physical clearance

• Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance

• 21 years of age for driving positions

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
