Role Specifics
Shift: AM
Hours: Full-time (32-40 hours per week)
Monday 9am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-5pm
Wednesday 9am-5pm
Thursday 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-5pm
Location: Dependable Office in St. Paul and Twin Cities Metro-
The Employment Specialist will need to provide transportation into the community and to job locations
Rate of Pay: $20/hour + $3/hour Weekend Differential

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Employment Specialist is to engage individuals in person-centered based tools to help individuals identify employment goals and aspirations. This role will be working in the community with individuals, writing reports, communicating with teams, and attending meetings. The Employment Specialist advocates to remove barriers to help the individual be successful. They are the liaison between the individuals we support, their team, and their employer and promote and implement the principles of person-centered practices, ensuring the individuals can live their lives in the way they choose and work in competitive integrated employment.

Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of program and personnel policies and procedures while maintaining all employment standards, required training and licenses
Find opportunities for advancement for the individual supported and promote social integration into the work site while ensuring the work environment is safe and free from harassment and discrimination
Prepare necessary paperwork for individuals team meetings including but not limited to, Support Plan Addendum, Self-Management Assessment, Individual Abuse Prevention Plan, and all other required paperwork as assigned in 245D.
Help individuals eliminate transportation barriers and help gain confidence with different modes of transportation. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for use in performing work related activities and maintain necessary insurance coverage. Regular travel in the community and transport of individuals and required to use their own vehicle (with paid mileage).
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a 245D licensed setting
Ability to read, write and speak English at a level that meets the performance requirements; or must be able to communicate in the language spoken by the individual at a level that meets the performance requirements
Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and make independent decisions while allowing for flexibility and creative alternatives with an ever-changing schedule and frequent interruptions
Ability to effectively use a computer/tablet, calculator, and household appliances
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel and learn inter-office documentation systems with training
Work in a variety of settings inside and outside of the home, community, and office as approved by the Designated Coordinator.
May be subject to physically aggressive individuals and may be required to participate in an emergency use of manual restraint.
May be exposed to animals, including but not limited to dogs, cats, pet rodents, birds, or pet reptiles
Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move intermittently during working hours
Lifting/transferring requirements vary based on assigned caseload
Ability to lift 75 pounds and transfer individuals as needed
Salary Description
$20.00 per hour+ $3/hour Weekend Differential
