Description of Duties/Essential Functions Benefits Supplemental Questions
Under general supervision, provides information and guidance to employers and clients concerning Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) Employment Service and Unemployment Insurance programs; assists in collecting program information to analyze for effectiveness. Utilizing Illinois Job Link and the Illinois Benefit Information System, reviews and researches employer and/or client accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
Monitors agency and regional training programs designed to provide increased employability skills to clients and to ensure programs fulfill client needs. Using a personal computer, reviews and processes job orders, provides technical assistance to employers and clients; compiles information for program and goal planning on employer and client needs. Provides prompt and accurate responses, as well as quality customer service, in accordance with established agency goals. Assists manager with various office and administrative duties related to the management of Employment and Unemployment Services for the Local Office.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with major courses in the social sciences; or requires four years of work experience in program research evaluation or design with two of the years at the professional level, preferably related to programs provided by IDES Service Delivery. Requires working knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) regulations and guidelines, Employment Service programs, Unemployment Insurance programs and all Service Delivery Bureau programs, service goals, activities and operational systems in area of responsibility.
Requires elementary knowledge of automated system capabilities within IDES, including but not limited to the current IL Labor Exchange System, Illinois Job Link (IJL), and Illinois Benefit Information System (IBIS). Requires the ability to effectively communicate ideas both orally and in written form; collect and organize pertinent data and/or information and prepare reports using narrative and/or statistical formats; and to use a PC and related software programs. Requires ability to travel.
