Do you have a passion for helping? Are you a Veteran (as defined in Title 38, United States Code, Section 4101) that wants to help Veterans get back into the workforce?

Can you translate military jargon to civilian terms? We are seeking a dedicated Veteran to provide individualized career and training related services to Veterans and eligible persons with significant barriers to employment through case management processes. You would promote the Employment Development Department (EDD), Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) and Workforce Services (WS) programs by providing employment services with the maximum emphasis directed toward serving Veterans who are economically or educationally disadvantaged.

Per the Governor's Office of California, the Employment Development Department is considered an essential department. This position requires local in-person workload, though some telework may be available. This position's office follows the recommended safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Center of Disease Control (CDC).

Travel may be required with this position.

Working Conditions

Visa Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.

In state travel

  • May be required to travel for training or to work at other Northern California Workforce Services locations.

Be willing to work IN PERSON between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, although workdays within each location may vary. Telework may be available depending on business needs. In person workload, though some telework may become available after twelve months of successful probation.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements

Background Investigation Requirement

The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.

The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).

The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies. Anyone failing to pass the background investigation will be provided information on how to appeal the process. A criminal conviction may not result in an automatic determination of "Not Qualified."
