Summary of Duties:

The Employment Development role shall work out of the STOP Placement Office and is responsible for supporting a network of job development and pre-employment services within the Program Area. The Employment Development role shall be familiar with pre-employment services, transitional work opportunities and long-term job opportunities within the Program Area. The Employment Development role shall have a basic knowledge of the expungement process, the benefits of completing the process, and/or the ability to provide information or a referral on how to expunge a criminal record, or obtain a Certificate of Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate and monitor job development services taking place at CBP facilities within the Program Area

  • Provide support for CBP Job Developers

  • Develop a network of prospective employers (e.g., trade associations, labor unions, etc.) within the Program Area that will work with Participants

  • Liaison with DAPO and DRP on employment related policy issues

  • Collect and maintain employment data for the Program Area

  • Perform such other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge

  • Understand a variety of models including cognitive behavioral therapy and criminogenic risk factors

  • Recognize the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery process

  • Know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct

  • Skills

  • Provide services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the Participant

  • Tailor program services to the Participant's stage of dependence, change, or recovery,

  • Appropriately use strategies from accepted and culturally appropriate models with Participants with substance use and other criminogenic risk factors

  • Abilities

  • Able to establish rapport with Participants, including management of crisis situation and determination of need for additional professional assistance

  • Facilitate the Participant's engagement in the treatment and recovery process

  • Possess the skills necessary to implement the employment plan, consult as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and assess ongoing planning efficacy

  • Able to operate a PC with basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience as a Job Developer or Employment Specialist or in a similar position

Negotiate appropriate resolutions to claims and other pending matters. * Assist in developing, implementing, improving and reviewing legal compliance projects and training. Assist with preparing or conducting training programs. * Assist and support all aspects of PayPal's M&A activities relates to employment matters. * Provide advice and counsel in the area of global mobility and immigration matters.
