Employment Counsel - Hybrid, Silicon Valley, Or Peachtree Corners, GA (891-Sls)

Our client, a thriving, publicly traded medical device company has retained Solutus Legal to assist the company in its search to add a talented and experienced employment counsel to its fantastic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively in a cross-department, cross-functional role.

This attorney will serve as an adviser to the company's HR team, managers, senior leadership, and other stakeholders. They will provide counsel on all facets of employment law, including global employment matters.

Responsibilities will include:

• Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise on necessary updates to company policies and practices.
• Advise on employment issues, including hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, restructures, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Provide guidance on workplace investigations and conduct workplace investigations as needed or assigned.
• Provide guidance on HR employee lifecycle and employee relations matters.
• Support response to employee escalations and employment demand letters.
• Conduct training sessions on employment law topics and company policies.
• Support employment litigation team and/or manage litigation, as assigned, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination disputes.
• Legal research and writing in support of proactive risk mitigation or issue support.
• Continuously evaluate and update relevant processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other members of the legal team and cross-functional departments to support the company's overall business objectives.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing clear and practical legal advice.
• Ability to communicate and work productively with external and opposing counsel.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years employment legal experience and preferably experience in high-technology or medical device industry.
• Deep familiarity with and working knowledge of employment laws and regulations federally, and throughout the US, particularly California and Georgia.
• Strong legal research, writing and oral communication skills.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build effective working relationships across the organization.
• Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously within a rapidly changing and work under tight deadlines.
• Proven track record of successful negotiations and mediations
• Ability to develop and implement cross-functional processes.
• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and active membership in good standing the Bar of residence.
• Global employment law experience or significant interest in global employment law experience is a plus.

The current targeted compensation for this position is in the range of $164,000- $236,000 (Bay Area) and $139,400 USD - $200,600 (Georgia) base salary, plus target bonus and equity. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications and years of directly relevant experience. As a key member of the legal team, there is an expectation of being in the office part of the week, generally 3x a week.)
