The Employment Consultant is responsible for coordinating employment services for individuals. The position develops supports for individuals seeking employment, providing assessments, on-site job supports, job development, and coaching as needed. Position overview:

The Employment Consultant is responsible for coordinating employment services for individuals. The position develops appropriate supports for individuals seeking employment. This position is essential in assisting LIFEDesigns to achieve its mission: LIFEdesigns partners with people of all ages and abilities to lead meaningful and active lives.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • With Customer, develop and implement employment support plans.

  • Provide assessment, job development, on-site support and coaching as needed.

  • Seek out employment opportunities matching customer interests.

  • With Supported Employment Director, maintain employment records for individual customers.

  • Build capacity within service networks to provide employment supports.

  • Facilitate provision of supported employment services within team structure.

  • Participate in conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings as necessary.

  • Provide and maintain clear and accurate records and documentation.

  • Ensure all customer information is accurate and up-to-date in electronic customer record.

  • Understand the importance of social role valorization principles in all LIFEDesigns practices

  • Develop natural supports and facilitate community connections

  • Participate in one or more community organizations and support customers to do likewise.

  • Network with coworkers, the community and other professionals to find employment opportunities for our customers.

  • Complete and submit appropriate billing for all employment services.

  • Monitor and continuously improve service quality.

  • Seek new ways to provide employment support to employers and customers.

  • Maintain a minimum billable time determined annually by the Director of Services.

  • Set targets for personal improvement based on a regular assessment of performance from supervisor, customers, and all staff.

  • Seek opportunities for personal education and skill development.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Occasional travel is required of this position, most during the workday.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in related field preferred with 2 years-experience in the field is preferred. A valid drivers license, proof of automobile insurance and acceptable motor vehicle report is required. In this position, reliable transportation is also required. Each employee must attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions regularly and maintain all required internal and external requirements and certifications.

QIDP Responsibilities * Ensures consumer and guardian participation in development of service plan and personal futures plan. * Coordinates development of each person(s) served personal futures plan and coordinates scheduling of team meetings (times, dates, locations, etc.) and informs all team members of such. * Schedules and chairs screening for program vacancies and develops waiting list for potential consumer vacancies. * Monitors to ensure all service sites deliver services in accordance with contractual, legal and regulation requirements and implements/coordinates any necessary plans of correction from a regulatory body. * Monitors all incident reports to ensure patterns of incidents are addressed. Shares all incident reports with appropriate external agencies (area programs, social services, etc.) when necessary and appropriate. Incidents of consumer abuse, neglect or mistreatment are investigated in a timely and thorough manner. Plan of Correction is initiated to prevent recurrences. * Monitors/implements/supervises delivery of service plans and personal futures plan and training of staff. Ensures all written training programs are implemented and revised as needed. Documents consumer progress or regression. Initiates discharge planning if appropriate. Maintains records appropriately. * Maintains fiscal spending within limits of approved budget, e.g. household expenses and repairs, vehicle expenses, personnel costs, consultant services, etc. * Monitors worker's compensation and unemployment claims for assigned service site(s). Is proactive in efforts to reduce claims and minimize risk/exposure of agency in these areas. * Other duties as assigned. Specific Requirements * BA/BS in Business, Health Care Administration, or Social Services. High school diploma or GED equivalent and three years of related job experience may be substituted per area regulations. Exceptions must have written approval from Regional Management. * A minimum of two years of verifiable work experience providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. * One year previous supervisory experience preferred. * Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations concerning services to individuals with intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities.
