Position Objective: To cultivate and broaden the business base for employers to partner with EP!C. Oversee the development and maintenance of relationships with community businesses to recruit and maintain employment opportunities. Share information with individuals and families regarding employment services. Will follow Rule 50, Dept. of Human Services Rule 115, Rule 116, Rule 119, Rule 120, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Mission, Vision, & Values

  • To support and educate the philosophy of the agency's mission/vision statement and current strategic plan.

  • Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.

Assistance to the Senior Director of Employment Services

  • Responsible for supporting the achievement of the organizational objectives as assigned by the agency's Strategic Plan.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Assist in tracking and reporting demographics, outcomes, and strategic goals for United Way, 377 Board, and all other grants.

Program/Department Development and Coordination

  • To support and educate the philosophy of the agency's mission/vision statement and current strategic plan.

  • Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Recruit and ready new business employers.

  • Coordinate and network with community employers to develop appropriate employment matches.

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with Employment Services team to discuss needs

  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting area businesses, organizations, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.

  • Ensure that pertinent entities are cultivated to contribute to the growth of Employment Services

  • Accomplish the growth and financial expectations associated with growth and maturation of the Employment Services Program.

  • Proactively coordinate with Marketing Department to develop and maintain an inventory of approved marketing materials.

  • Collaborate with program staff to facilitate engaging potential referrals

  • Educate potential stakeholders of agency and community services.

  • Provide support to employers in the compatibility and placement process.

Database, Paperwork and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Meet all deadlines set by the agency and outside resources.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information relative to persons served and businesses.

  • Manage communication with potential employers.

  • Provide regular updates and feedback to Employment Services team

  • Manage employer tracking system

  • Develop and maintain provider/site bio's - prioritizing with sites that have immediate openings.

Resource Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to and work with all team and agency members.

  • Communicate and serve as an agency liaison to individuals with I/DD, families, guardians, outside entities and work groups.

  • Participate in agency-wide functions to support entire organization, including intra-agency and inter agency committees.

  • Maintain contact with external agencies and trade organizations.

Personal and Professional Development:

  • Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, seminars, and in-service training sessions as requested.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Personnel Relations:

  • Interact with all departments and EP!C staff, with individuals from monitoring agencies/committees, parents, family members, and other professionals in a professional manner.

  • Facilitate intra-and interdepartmental communication as needed.

Marginal Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • As a mandated reporter, ensure allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation are reported as required by EP!C policy and government regulation

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Recruiting experience

  • Knowledge of general principles of recruiting

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

  • Must successfully complete CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training and maintain these certifications.

  • Must complete DSP training in accordance with the state regulations and maintain acceptable status on the Health Care Worker's Registry under the Healthcare Worker's Background Check Act.

  • Must obtain/maintain standing as an Authorized Direct Support Person for medication administration.

Competency Requirements

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to interested parties to include but not limited to people supported, family members, community members, ISC, DHS staff, and other employees of the organization.

  • Must possess good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a diverse audience.

  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office systems. Technical skills include the ability to function using Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Basic knowledge of regulations and standards as applicable to EP!C

  • Must be able to assess physical environment based on health and safety needs implementing corrective measures when needed.

  • Knowledge of the principles of Person-Centered Planning and the Council of Quality Leadership (CQL).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking and sitting.

  • Regular reaching, grasping, and standing.

  • Other physical activities related to an office environment.

  • Ability to travel for long periods of time on a regular basis.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Operate general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer.

Work Environment

  • Work environments may vary to include office, home environments, and community settings.

  • Will require travel in all regions that EP!C provides support

  • May be required to work extended hours or be called upon for emergencies.

  • Work hours/days are full-time and exempt status. Flexibility is a requirement to accommodate various Program, contractual, personnel and organizational needs.

  • Will be required to drive a motor vehicle (EP!C's, employee's or rental) as part of his/her employment responsibilities with EP!C. A valid Illinois Driver's License and insurance is required and must be maintained at all times while employed by EP!C.
