The Employment Attorney is responsible for providing strategic legal advice for the Wellforce health system, including its hospitals, agencies and physician organizations. The attorney will provide high-quality, practical advice and support to HR on a wide range of day-to-day issues including performance/conduct management, discipline and terminations, leaves of absence, disability, wage and hour, benefits and other matters in a fast-paced environment.

Provide support for management of US HR/employment matters, including agency/administrative charges and pre-litigation disputes. The attorney will also be responsible for investigation and evaluation of claims before administrative agencies and state and federal courts. The attorney will counsel and create workplace policies and procedures that follow federal, state, and local employment laws and help minimize conflict and lawsuits.# # Responsibilities: Provide in-house legal counsel on labor and employment related matters such as, human resources issues, wage and hour law, workers# compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, labor relations, employment agreements and policy related issues, FMLA matters, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations and generally assist the General Counsel and Human Resources Department. Oversee the investigation efforts for all incidents identified as potential claims, labor grievances and disciplinary procedures to ensure consistent practices are in place and align with the established union contracts. Evaluate current practices and ensures compliance; identify and pursue opportunities to reduce exposure and decide what strategies can be implemented to avoid litigation and what issues must be analyzed to determine potential financial exposure.# Act as the lead resource to other claims administrators to evaluate and plan litigation and assist in claim settlement negotiations.# Review confidential material contained in medical records and personnel files, abstracting pertinent information and summarizing statistically or in narrative form for review and analysis by other in-house lawyers or other appropriate parties.# Negotiate, within authority, claim settlements directly with claimants or their legal representatives/attorneys and partner when appropriate with third party administrators and related insurance companies through the claim process. Maintain advanced knowledge and awareness of current practices, techniques, trends, law and precedents regarding medical malpractice or product liability by participating in ongoing, independent study, education-related professional activities and affiliations.


Juris Doctorate degree required Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 7+ years working as an Employment Attorney with sound legal experience in worker#s compensation, harassment and discrimination, workplace safety, wage and overtime standards and privacy rights. Proven competence as an attorney; ability to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment.# Good communication (oral and written), research and interpersonal skills; must be proactive yet persistent in providing counsel.

Sound judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations; ability to cross think and determine who should be kept informed. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare environment#with an understanding of hospital operations and medical terminology.

What we're looking for: Citrix seeks a Program Manager, Litigation & Employment Center of Excellence, to join a dynamic, fast-paced, global legal team and assume responsibility for supporting the Company's litigation and employment attorneys as we mature our Litigation and Employment Centers of Excellence (COE). The Litigation COE is responsible for oversight, guidance, and handling of matters involving pre-litigation disputes, litigation, investigations, subpoena and government process, bankruptcy, and e-discovery. The Employment COE is responsible for working with the Human Resources team to develop, implement and manage compliant and risk-based processes for supporting all aspects of the employment cycle. We are looking for an ambitious, well-organized self-starter who is eager to jump in and support all aspects of the COEs. Position Overview In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work on a variety of matters and special projects. You will be drive and support the development of internal processes including tracking, assessment, and analyses of matter-related information. You will lead organizational management of complex litigation and investigations and assist with discovery, including e-discovery. You will be point person on communications with Company departments as well as outside counsel. You will also be responsible for day-to-day support and duties as assigned by the Litigation & Employment group. Primary Duties / Responsibilities * Help define procedures and draft process documents to promote knowledge management and efficient workflows and handling of legal matters within the COEs. * Develop and maintain spreadsheets or databases for tracking litigation, third-party requests and investigations, and coordinate across internal functions to collate information necessary for various reporting requirements. * Support the employment team on special projects to develop or refine consistent, efficient and compliant management of employment processes. * Support the COE team in managing global litigation and pre-litigation matters; includes maintaining the electronic case file, managing critical timelines and dates, evidence gathering, liaising with witnesses, updating internal stakeholders on case status and managing internal reporting requirements. * Support the e-discovery lifecycle by working cross-functionally across the organization; includes refining and managing implementation of legal holds and other data preservation efforts, in coordination with COE team. * Review discovery and records requests, including subpoenas, garnishments, and regulatory inquiries to determine scope and identify required resources; confer with internal and external resources to gather, review and respond efficiently. * Support the Company's bankruptcy matters by reviewing bankruptcy-related documents, maintaining tracker and working with internal and external stakeholders. * Coordinate with vendors for larger scale projects, including preparing purchase orders and confidentiality agreements and logistical coordination; quality review completed projects. * Assist with document productions, including review of files gathered prior to production for attorney-client privilege, responsiveness, and completeness, and prepare redactions of certain information as appropriate. * Promote team efficiencies through organizational assistance. * Assist attorneys in engaging, preparing or working with employees as necessary for litigation related matters. May conduct legal and other factual research as needed. * May assist attorneys in the drafting, editing and proofreading of documents. Preferred Qualifications * Excellent and demonstrated collaboration, communication, and writing skills required. * Flexible and able to effectively handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced dynamic environment. * Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills with ability to handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritizing appropriately. * Ability to work independently and to interface with customers, all internal departments and all levels of management. * Proactive, resourceful, troubleshooter, with strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence. * Strong desire to be a team player and to learn new skills, technologies, or disciplines as necessary. * Experience with exposure to confidential information and an understanding of the importance of maintaining such confidentiality including legal and financial information. * Understanding of or willingness to learn litigation processes, e-discovery and computer forensics concepts such as litigation holds, preservation of data and chain of custody. * Comfortable with data and analytics, presentation building, and learning new software platforms.
