Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for developing and managing employer events and activities to facilitate part-time, internship and professional job opportunities for Florida Tech students and graduates. The Employer Relations & Events Manager is also responsible for managing outreach and social media for the Career Services Office as well as managing general administrative activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement employer recruiting events such as information sessions, interviews, networking events and other related activities.

  • Organize, promote and execute Career Fairs each semester including identifying potential employers, creating marketing materials, and managing registrations and payments.

  • Manage front office operations and maintaining excellent customer service to students, employers and other members of the campus community.

  • Supervise daily operations of Panther Career Network including approving employers and jobs, communicating with employers, creating and updating events, and managing student profiles and communication.

  • Plan, develop and implement marketing strategies to increase employer participation in campus recruitment activities as well as student participation in career events.

  • Collect and compile data and statistics on employer and student events.

  • Assist other areas of Career Services with special events and high work volumes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field.

  • 2 years of experience in higher education, career services or human resources/recruiting preferred.

  • Experience planning, promoting, and executing large in person and virtual events.

  • Computer proficiency required including proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Teams; marketing software such as Canvas; and experience with Symplicity, Handshake or other career services management systems preferred. Ability to learn and adapt to new technology as required.

  • Strong social media and marketing skills utilizing tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram to promote events.

  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills required.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and work flexible hours, including evenings, when required.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
