Responsible for identifying and recruiting potential employers to hire students and alumni of The University of Tulsa for full-time, part-time, and internship employment opportunities; cultivating relationships with new and current employers; developing sponsorship opportunities to support the mission and initiatives of the Center; and helping to further the marketing and branding of the Center for Career Development and Professional Engagement.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Identifies, recruits, and enrolls employers locally, regionally, and nationally to hire TU students and alumni by conducting visits, engaging in direct contact via varied methods of communication, developing relationships with employers, and initiating contact with alumni and faculty for the purpose of job sourcing
Identifies and joins appropriate organizations that will generate new employer contacts, compiles background materials to provide internal briefings to the Employer Relations Team, and presents about the Center's services to potential employers
Maintains knowledge of all employer services offered through the Center, recognizes how to personalize the recruiting plan of action for each employer, and assists employers in utilizing the Center's services including on-campus interviews, online access, resume referrals, job listings, and career fairs
Markets the Center's departmental services and events to employers and promotes TU by developing strategies and materials, marketing TU students and graduates to employers, and researching the needs of employers to determine additional services the Center should provide to maximize recruitment
Represents TU and the Center at various external and campus events, actively participates in events sponsored by area business and professional organizations, and coordinates employer visits to campus
Manages the Center's employer database including inputting and updating employer contact information, creating/running reports to track contacts, and developing plans to make future contacts
Develops and promotes sponsorship opportunities for employers to partner with the Center and support its mission
Leads special projects as requested and assists with other Center for Career Development and Professional Engagement tasks as needed, including career fairs and other special events
Performs other related duties as assigned
Occasional evening events and some travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required
Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, public relations, or equivalent
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to problem solve, collaborate, and provide superior customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills
General knowledge of university recruiting policies preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
2 years experience in customer service, public relations, or equivalent
Experience with CRM
Experience developing and working with sponsorships
Physical Demands
Typing/Keyboarding: Proficiency in typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods.
Speaking: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Reaching: Ability to reach for items on shelves or in cabinets.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, handle files, and perform other tasks.
