The Employer Consultant serves as a strategic partner to develop deep, collaborative partnerships with area employers to understand their specific market and individual training, education, and workforce pipeline needs. Reports to the campus Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development and works collaboratively with Career Coaches, Talent Connection Managers, Employer Consultant, Academic Advisors, Deans, K-14 Leads, Faculty and other leaders to develop work plans tied to College metrics and ensure services and products meet or exceed customer and campus metrics.

Partners with campus Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development and Systems Office, Assistant Vice President for Employer Connections to build out campus strategy and plan to meet and exceed related College goals.

Develops a deep understanding and appreciation of demand-driven needs and skills gaps within key economic sectors at the campus level for workforce alignment, development, and training and education purposes.

Establishes, maintains, and cultivates positive, collaborative partnerships with employers. Provides meaningful consulting services focused sharply on employer needs. Actively listens to and engages employers to assist in realizing the full scope and depth of their needs.

Implements demand-driven, voice-of-the-customer (VOC) processes to co-develop workforce programs and products. Thoughtfully crafts employer-centric tools based on data and information from the Department of Workforce Development and other agencies to align with workforce needs.

Collaborates with campus academic leaders to assist with credit-bearing programs that focus on high-demand, high-wage workforce needs.

Conduct regular outreach to businesses to assess their workforce needs and provide solutions through college programs.

Develops and integrates employer workforce pipeline strategies, such as work-and-learn and placement, into services provided by campuses, and in partnership with Talent Connection Managers. Collaborates with appropriate Deans and faculty to identify Certificates of Training for companies to develop talent pipelines.

Determines appropriate skills and academic training programs for offering to employers and manages necessary details.

Consults on the development of work plans to define and implement metrics tied to employer, employee and campus outcomes.

Participates in local business organizations to further develop understanding of markets and communities to build relationships with employers.

Supports Achieve Your Degree (AYD) in conjunction with the Executive Director of Ivy+ Career Link and Achieve Your Degree Coordinator.

Develops deep understanding and appreciation of employer consulting best practices.

Participates in professional growth and development, 4DX (4 Disciplines of Execution) and training programs related to employer consulting.

Participates in ongoing meetings with campus Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development, Career Coaches, and Talent Connection Managers. Participates in related annual summits and/or retreats.

Collaborates with Local Economic Development Officials, regional employers and external stakeholders of the college throughout out 9-county campus service area.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

A minimum of three (3) years related experience in employer consulting or sales required.

Demonstrated skills and abilities to concurrently manage numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities required.

Must have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Must be able and willing to travel to and from campuses and professional development activities.

Ability to work within an entrepreneurial framework and scale a large project required.

Driving is an essential function of this position. The incoming employee must hold a valid Indiana driver's license and complete the Driver Approval Form to obtain authorization from the Systems Office for operating any College-owned, leased, or rented vehicles as part of their job responsibilities.
