As an Employer Brand Specialist, your role will operate within the Recruitment team but will work cross-functionally with People and Culture, DE&I, Communications and Corporate Affairs. You will be responsible for executing the employer brand strategy to launch and activate our new employer brand internally and externally. In this role, you'll write the stories of our colleagues, shoot, and edit videos, create copy and digital content, develop campaigns, design the build of a new global careers site, and be a champion of all items relating to our global employer brand.

The opportunity

  • You will think and act strategically to translate National Grid's employer brand to our local markets, positioning us as an employer of choice (ensure that we present the whole story of what it is like to work at NG across multiple channels)

  • Craft engaging content ranging from blogs to social media to video to increase our brand awareness (shape externally facing content that conveys the qualities of working at NG including videos, web copy, job adverts, emails, and social media posts)

  • Take ownership of various tools and programs to extend the brand's reach, such as our People Blog, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, global career site, social channels, etc.

  • Partner with recruiters to deliver highly targeted engagement campaigns to drive interest in, and applications to, open roles at National Grid

  • Create and run a multi-channelled, integrated marketing plan that differentiates our brand and support the growth plans for Early Careers

  • Plan out a campaign from awareness through to conversion

  • Manage the creation of a set of marketing assets (brochure, web, adverts, videos) to use throughout the campaign

  • Work with external agencies to manage key channels (including social media and digital advertising), and regularly monitor to make relevant changes based on performance and feedback

  • Take ownership of marketing communications with candidates

  • Collaborate with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to ensure messaging has alignment

  • Create and implement strategies for building a talent network/talent community

  • Build and maintain trust and influence with marketing, communication, DE&I and talent acquisition teams

  • Improve any number of tools and resources to help recruiters in their mission to engage prospects and pitch the National Grid brand (Use the latest digital tools to build awareness and attract potential candidates to NG.) Engage, report and measure how campaigns perform within our audiences, from awareness through to conversion. Take learnings forward to help us deliver even better campaigns to achieve our growth ambitions in the market.

  • Provide measured, accurate analysis and feedback to allow the recruiting teams to scale and achieve operational efficiencies where possible

  • Drive awareness of National Grid as a serious player in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), with specific focus on diversity, building partnerships with communities and careers advisors

  • Liaise with social media representatives, creative agencies, and internal teams to create engaging content.

About you

  • Experience activating a new employer brand (desired not essential)

  • Experience working in Employer branding, digital marketing, content marketing or social media marketing

  • Knowledge recruitment marketing channel mix including emerging media and technologies, with experience running paid media campaigns

  • Partnered with global talent acquisition teams to understand their unique challenges

  • Passionate about people - stories - and finding authentic points of connection with candidates and employees

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Bonus points if you have worked with a CMS to create, edit, and manage content for external consumption

  • Video editing experience preferred but not required

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite but not required

Salary

$81,000 - $95,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
