Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources (HR) team. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships between the company and its employees, promoting a healthy work environment, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a harmonious and productive workplace where employees are supported, engaged, and valued.

Responsibilities Serve as a point of contact for employees and management to address and resolve workplace issues, conflicts, and concerns in a fair and objective manner. Act as a mediator in resolving disputes, promoting open communication, and fostering a positive work culture. Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, disciplinary matters, and workplace incidents.

Prepare comprehensive reports and recommend appropriate actions to address any identified issues. Provide guidance and support to managers in addressing employee performance issues, ensuring proper documentation, feedback, and coaching. Assist in the development of performance improvement plans when necessary.

Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and overall job satisfaction. Conduct surveys and analyze data to identify trends and recommend strategies for improvement. Develop and maintain effective communication channels to disseminate important information to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and company updates.

Collaborate with HR training specialists to design and deliver employee relations training programs, ensuring employees and managers are aware of their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Stay updated with employment laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and mitigate potential legal risks. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records related to investigations, complaints, and other employee relations matters.

Assist in managing all leave of absences in coordination with our third-party vendor. Assist in the coordination of leave programs and policies with third party vendors in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws. Conduct intake interviews for reasonable accommodation requests under ADAAA.

Provides administrative support to asset protection department in providing follow up and status with vendor. Communicate case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including return to work and/or restrictions. May coordinate or assist the Asset Protections Department with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Proven experience (5+ years) in an employee relations, HR Generalist, or related role. In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization. Excellent conflict resolution and mediation abilities. Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is desirable but not mandatory. Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion.

Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations.

Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques. Thorough understanding of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
