Employee Relations Manager
We are searching for an Employee Relations Manager with a passion for working with diverse groups of people and a knack for solving problems.
In this role, you will provide a wide range of HR services but primarily will focus on the employee relations side of HR. You will have visibility into the full range of HR operations and will be hands-on in many of the business functions of a successful, growing, technology company. Most importantly, you will focus on providing a fair and consistent employee experience throughout our organization while balancing Relics' individual needs with New Relic's philosophy, principles, and available resources.
You will report to a business unit HR Business Partner (HRBP), and partner and work with teammates in remote locations
What You'll Do
Act as the initial point of contact for employee relations and escalate high risk and complex issues to the HRBP as necessary.
Address root causes of performance management in a consultative manner, educating employees and managers at each touch point and proactively identify solutions that align with New Relic's policy and culture.
Investigate complicated issues and navigate them efficiently to ensure that we are consistent and applying fair practices.
Guide managers in the consistent application of HR policies.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, etc.)
Often play the role of coach, mediator, and connector between employees and management.
Assist HRBPs with planning and roll-out of HR programs and initiatives.
Support HRBPs and business leaders in the retention of key talent, and the development of leadership capabilities across the organization.
Build collaborative and trusted cross-functional relationships with key internal service functions, i.e. Finance, HR Operations, IT, Legal, Talent Acquisition.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
At least 5 years of progressively increasing experience in Employee Relations
In-depth knowledge and application of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees
High level of skill in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and remain calm under pressure
Effective collaboration and influencing skills, and proven ability to work well in a geographically dispersed, matrix environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience analyzing HR data related to key metrics and validation
Ability to multi-task is essential
Ability to navigate a fast-paced and ever-evolving work environment, with the accompanying evolving responsibilities
Demonstrated dedication to continuous improvement and operates with a learning mindset
