Job Description: Salary Range: $49,140 - $76,500 per year, DOE The Office of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships (CESP) is seeking an Employer Relations Manager. This position strengthens relations with strategic partners by providing concierge service through outreach and coordination with departments to facilitate employment opportunities for students.
The Employer Relations Manager provides exceptional service to a portfolio of strategic partners seeking to hire ASU students.
This position provides customized employer-specific guidance on recruiting avenues and other student engagement activities to advance and promote internship and new graduate recruiting pipeline activities. This position will also work closely with ASU Career Services, Fulton Schools of Engineering and W.P.
Carey School of Business to develop customized multiple-department/multi-discipline employer events and programs to meet employer-specific objectives. Essential Duties: Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic university partners to understand their workforce needs and objectives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, ensuring timely and effective communication. Provide exceptional support to strategic partners in navigating the university's resources, departments, and processes to maximize their engagement and recruitment efforts. Advises strategic partners on recruiting best practices to maximize their brand, visibility, and student outreach.
Provide strategic guidance on accessing university facilities, participating in events, networking with key stakeholders and leveraging university assets Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform strategic decisions and enhance employer engagement strategies. Evaluates employer recruitment requests and develops corresponding solutions to meet their university talent acquisition needs including participation in career center programs, events, student activities and use of the campus recruitment management system, Handshake. Work closely with internal ASU stakeholders, including career services, to ensure cohesive and effective employer engagement.
Facilitate connections between strategic partners and students, ensuring mutual satisfaction and successful outcomes. Collaborate with partners to develop customized solutions that align with their workforce goals. Work with stakeholders to design, implement, and oversee programs and initiatives that address the workforce needs of strategic partners.
Uses persuasive communication skills, both verbal and in writing, to feature the university’s attributes and capabilities that will attract and yield new strategic partners. Recruits, manages, and assesses the corporate affiliates partnership program. Uses project management skills to manage strategic partners’ campus activities, expand partnership opportunities, and meet project goals and deliverables.
Oversees the quality control processes for inbound Handshake employer approvals and job postings for the engineering portfolio. Attains subject matter expertise of the Handshake system to develop and continuously improve data quality standards and engineering-related workflows. Develops and runs complex system reports, recommends system enhancements for improved user experience, and trains strategic partners and staff on Handshake’s features and capabilities.
Creates, modifies, and runs CRM contact reports. Develops expert-level user knowledge. Assesses and prepares reports and presentations on the employer campus recruitment program.
Works with the Institutional Relationship Manager to develop and execute the communication plan for targeted strategic partners and students. Works with the career center team to plan and execute assigned large and small employer-facing events.
Completes funds requests, P-card reconciliations, and budget-related documents for assigned employer-related events.
Communicates frequently with ASU career centers and other constituents to coordinate employer events and needs. Develops subject matter expertise of Handshake and trains in its use. Travel to strategic partner locations as needed.
Travels to ASU campuses and other locations as needed. Reports on status to leadership on a regular basis. Desired Qualifications:
Experience in employer relations at a 4-yr university. Experience as a recruiter, human resources or hiring manager at a company. Experience in basic project management and workflow.
Experience in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others. Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Evidence of effective communication.
Experience in using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Working Environment: Climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position.
Constantly detects and operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. Ability to clearly communicate and exchange accurate information to perform essential duties. Expected to be responsive to customers, engaged in work production, resourceful, flexible, and respectful of others.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
