Employee Relations (ER) is a centralized team within Human Resources with domestic and international responsibilities that include consulting on HR policy and employment related matters, resolution of workplace issues and disputes not requiring investigation, corrective action consultation, team member misconduct review processes, displacement and selection strategies, employee assistance consulting, and accommodations management. Key partners include Legal, Conduct Management, HR Control Executive, and Enterprise Human Capital Controls and Governance.
The ER LeaderEscalated Case Management reports to Sharon Matthews, Head of Employee Relations and is responsible for providing direction and management to a new team that is responsible for review and resolution of escalated ER matters for Wells Fargo. This position will develop and lead a diverse team of highly skilled ER professionals and business support consultants, where applicable. This team will be responsible for the ER Team Member Misconduct Review process (TMMR) and associated reporting, coordination of matters escalated to the Misconduct Escalation Review Committee (MERC), complex team member and executive allegations, termination disputes, and escalated second level reviews and employment eligibility determinations. Additional specialized consulting includes labor relations, information security, and ER for ER. The focus is on ensuring consistent application of HR policy and ER guidance and on mitigating employment related risk across the enterprise.
This leader will continually assess the effectiveness and value of related programs and processes thru the use and development of metrics and analysis in partnership with Team Member Insights. They will remain abreast of existing and changing Wells Fargo policies and standards, employment laws and regulations and understand the impacts on the organization.
The leader will develop strong partnerships with HR Consulting leaders, key ER partners and line of business leaders to consult/partner with them to strategize, define, analyze and resolve extremely complex or sensitive employment related issues. They will also provide enterprise leadership and guidance across the lines of business as a result of escalated issues and identified business challenges or trends. They are responsible for risk mitigation and employment-law compliance. They will leverage communication, relationship management, influence, and negotiation skills to effectively engage partners and internal and/or external stakeholders of all levels across a line of business. Key partners include Legal, Conduct Management, HR and LOB Control Executives, Enterprise Human Capital Controls and Governance, and Conduct Risk Oversight.
This leader will have expert business acumen and in-depth knowledge of enterprise-wide business capabilities and external factors with the ability to act as a champion of the One Wells Fargo and One HR view.
Lead delivery of employee relations consultation in support of the Company's goals, vision, values and HR policies
Lead enterprise ER-related initiatives and be actively engaged on other work teams to achieve Corporate HR strategic priorities
Ensures team operates effectively as a critical control function within ER and HR
Responsible for providing input to set the strategic direction of WF's ER/HR function to align with WF business objectives and HR priorities
Oversees resolution of sensitive matters that have potential negative impact to the enterprise
Responsible for the proactive and strategic design, and continual improvement of the ER Specialized Consulting operating model, including consulting standards, processes and procedures in alignment with the changing ER and HR operating model.
Provide strategic thinking related to enterprise-wide ER issues
Update and inform ER, HR, and LOB leadership regarding key patterns, trends, concerns and develop actions to address
Deliver metrics and reporting to ER and HR, HR Risk and Compliance Committee, OC and other LOB leadership, as determined.
Coach, develop and lead the ER Specialized Consulting team utilizing the Wells Fargo leadership development framework.
