Description

  • As an Employee Relations Business Partner in the Advice & Counsel Center, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and collaborative work environment by providing expert guidance on employee relations matters.

  • You will be responsible for handling employee concerns, addressing workplace conflicts, and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.

  • You will work closely with various departments and assigned internal client groups to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and support Emory's mission and goals.

    1. Employee Relations Management:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for employees seeking guidance on workplace issues, disputes, or conflicts.

  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters in accordance with Emory policies and applicable laws.

  • Provide advice and support to management in handling complex employee relations issues.


    1. Policy Development and Implementation:

  • As appropriate, collaborate with HR leadership and legal teams to develop and update company policies and procedures related to employee relations.

  • Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization and conduct training sessions to educate employees and managers.


    1. Conflict Resolution:

  • Mediate conflicts between employees, managers, and teams to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Recommend and implement conflict resolution strategies to prevent recurring issues.

  • 4.Performance Management:

  • Assist in the performance management process, including coaching managers on effective performance conversations, conducting investigations related to performance issues, and recommending appropriate actions.


    1. Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

  • Conduct surveys, analyze results, and provide recommendations for improvement.


    1. Legal Compliance:

  • Stay current with employment laws and regulations, ensuring Emory policies and practices are in compliance.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess, develop, and implement effective compliance and risk management strategies.

  • Work closely with legal counsel to address legal issues related to employee relations.


    1. Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients and act as a trusted advisor on HR and compliance matters.

  • Provide clear and effective communication to convey complex legal issues in a comprehensible manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing employee relations advice, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment. Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
