Job Description:

Manages employee relations process including conducting investigations and researching employee complaints in support of the Advice and Counsel Center. Advises and recommends solutions and options to Site HR in support of resolving employee relations issues.
1.Manages employee relations process for assigned cases ensuring consistency with investigation practices and resolution of complaints across the health system.
2.Collaborates with Site HR and department managers in advising and recommending employee relations solutions.
3.Conducts and/or collaborates with Site HR to conduct thorough, documented investigations in areas within the scope of the ACC, as assigned and within established timeframes.
4.Conducts interviews with all parties and documents conversations in a clear and concise manner. Gathers and reviews all necessary evidence in support of case investigation. Ensures all documentation is accurate and complete.
5.Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of a final investigative report including analysis and recommended course of action.
6.Prepares and maintains regular reports utilizing ACC data regarding investigations.
7.Works with Site HR and Corporate HR departments to determine most appropriate way to operationalize solutions.
8.Conducts training sessions for HR and department managers to ensure understanding and application of investigation practices and policies.
9.Applies knowledge of Labor laws, union contracts, federal, state and local laws in the application of complaint resolution.
10. Collaborates with Legal and Compliance teams to resolve all complaints, including Ethics Point complaints, as necessary.
11. Performs related duties, as required.

  • ADA Essential Functions


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, required. JD preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in Labor and Employee Relations, required.

  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution; solid writing, interpersonal and problem solving skills, required.

  • Working knowledge of HR Systems including PeopleSoft and Kronos, required.

  • Ability to interpret contracts, Federal, State and Local laws (DOL, OSHA, EEO, etc.) and apply to employee issues.

Utilizing the ACC tracking system, evaluates all requests, determines level of severity and logs and triages all requests to the appropriate Employee Relations staff member. Responds promptly and directly to Tier 1 level requests. Educates departments on Employee Relation processes and procedures. 1. Monitors the Advice and Counsel Center mailbox, EthicsPoint site and phone line in support of Employee Relations. 2. Logs and triages all requests ensuring appropriate assignment to an ACC Employee Relations Advisor. 3. Evaluates and assigns Tier level to all requests ensuring appropriate processing and attention based upon severity of the issue. 4. Handles all Tier 1 issues by supplying appropriate and timely information to department managers, Site HR or employee. 5. Ensures all necessary documentation, forms and templates are available and distributed to necessary parties to move the investigation process along in a timely fashion. * Assists department managers and Site HR staff in the interpretation of Tier level requests. Addresses all requests within established timeframes. * Tracks and reports on ACC metrics. Makes recommendations for process improvement and reports on trends. 6. Works with HR Business Partners, managers and employees on employee relation's issues. * Assists Employee Relations Advisors in developing solutions to employee issues. * Researches relevant issues in order to provide suggestions and solutions. * Supports ACC Employee Relations team in decision-making strategies. * Gathers data to ensure compliance with requests. 7. Performs related duties, as required. * ADA Essential Functions Qualifications Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field, required. * Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience as an HR Generalist, required. Employee relations experience, preferred. * Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, required. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; PeopleSoft experience required.
