Job Summary

Effectively manages complaints, grievances, and employee concerns for all union and non-union County employees. Conducts personal interviews into employee complaints and handles information extremely sensitive in nature.

Receives and addresses Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests, maintaining confidential files for all requests received. Works with departments to ensure that ADA accommodations are implemented. Oversee and conduct exit interviews for County employees and provide coaching services to union and non-union employees encountering workplace issues in alignment with policies and procedures.

Participate as a member of the management team during arbitration hearings and provide assistance to lead counsel, as needed. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

1.Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in human resources, psychology, criminal justice, or other related field of study.

NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.

2.Have two (2) years of full-time experience in one or more of the following areas: labor relations, investigative interviewing, case management, equal employment opportunity, preferably in a municipal environment.

3.Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

4.Successfully complete the six (6) month probationary period.
