Employee Health /Infection Control Nurse - Inpatient Rehab

The Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse directs and implements the Infection Control Program which includes the employee health function. This position is responsible for the maintenance of a sanitary environment, the implementation of infection control measures related to hospital personnel (contract workers, visitors, students, volunteers, etc.), mitigation of risk associated with infections present upon admission, mitigation of risk contributing to Hospital Acquired Infections, and active surveillance according to the infection control plan.
The position will monitor and be in compliance with all infection control policies and procedures. Current and valid state RN license and CIC certification required.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (including licensure, certification and other job-related credentials)
1.Current Texas Registered Nurse licensure required.2. Current BLS certification required.3. At least two years of direct patient care nursing experience required; prior experience in employeehealth administration strongly preferred.Page 3 of 44. Working knowledge of policies and regulations affecting employee health administration in Texashospitals is required.5. Familiarity with evidence-based research and best practices regarding employee health andinfection control.6. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and relate ideas effectively with staff members,supportive personnel, management staff, third party payers, patients, and physicians.7. Strong skills in detailed documentation, problem-solving and excellent customer service.8. Must have solid understanding and skills in computer equipment and software such as MicrosoftOffice and other software programs.
