Summary:

AXIS Capital (NYSE: AXS) is a global insurance and reinsurance company with more than 30 offices across over 15 countries and four continents. Our Communications team serves as a strategic partner to the business, overseeing external communications and internal communications/employee engagement on a global scale.

The Employee Engagement and Communications Associate will play an important role on our team and will provide junior level support to utilize our communications channels to unify and inspire the employees across the enterprise and share the AXIS story with the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and deliver engaging and concise communications and internal news stories.

  • Interact with AXIS colleagues across all levels and throughout our global network of offices to conduct interviews and collect success stories all while effectively representing the Communications Team.

  • Maintain and update our global intranet "AXIS Point", as well as other digital assets.

  • Manage compilation and distribution of our enterprise newsletter "Inside AXIS", as well as business segment newsletters.

  • Assist the team in project management of Communications events such as Global Town Halls (enterprise-wide and business segment), Retreats, Corporate Social Responsibility and Employee Engagement special events.

  • Support some external communications activities as needed, such as writing external content, researching pertinent issues and supporting traditional or social media initiatives.

  • Creatively tackle problems, avidly pursue process improvement, live a "can-do" attitude each day.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in English, Communications, Journalism, Integrated Marketing or related fields

  • The ability to work well under pressure, be extremely flexible and manage multiple projects

  • This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities while still providing client-focused service

  • A self-starter with high personal integrity

  • Exceptional interpersonal, listening and writing/editing skills

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with the basic elements of design/visual branding

  • Writing test required

  • Related entry-level or internship experience preferred

  • Strong proficiency in SharePoint and Email Campaigns services a plus

  • Public relations, integrated marketing, brand fluency, and social media acumen a plus

You will devise plans and activities to make it clear to employees how much they are valued by the organization. You will communicate with employees through several platforms (e.g., virtually, through social media, and formal/informal in-person events) and help them understand and support business direction and organizational goals. You will work to engage all employees, such as extraverts and introverts, local and globally located, and culturally diverse, crafting activities and events that are appealing without pressure or judgment around participation. You will help guide employee volunteers around site events and work with managers to improve their engagement approaches. Using feedback metrics, you will craft strategies to further the CIO missions and goals of employee engagement. Key Responsibilities: * Measure employee engagement and identify issues and key drivers of engagement; set goals * Develop strategies for improving engagement in the CIO, involving the employees themselves (engagement volunteers, managers) * Monitor feedback, learn, and iteratively improve strategy * Embrace a diversity of personalities, approaches to work, and a worldwide group of employees * Organize colleagues at strategic CIO locations to understand unique engagement needs at these locations, and coordinate events and activities * Work with CIO managers and employees to foster engagement goals * Be creative and innovative; use best of breed across the industry to improve engagement, but also experiment and find new ways to engage employees * Support organizational goals to attract and retain top, diverse talent and create a productive work environment * Plan, manage, and execute global all-CIO employee meetings for the Office of the CIO.
