Overview

Oversee our instructional design and recruiting functions with responsibility for engaging and developing current and potential employees in all divisions of MFA Oil Company. Work with each business unit to produce high quality course curriculum for MFA Oil University including online and instructor lead training. Implement effective job recruitment strategies and processes leveraging job boards, social media, and career portals. This position requires an individual who is highly motivated, creative, and understands how to develop meaningful solutions for both learning and recruiting. Must perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented, dynamic environment, that balances the variety of tasks and projects with continual communication and interaction with our business unit leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, production and maintenance of employee training programs for MFA Oil University leveraging both online and instructor led training

  • Oversee the development of onboarding portals, job descriptions, and recruiting processes to ensure hiring efficiency and maximum engagement by candidates

  • Manage projects, metrics and daily processes that support the development of candidates and employees

  • Consult with business units to understand employee attraction and development needs. Create solutions based upon culture and core values

  • Offer specific training programs to help employees maintain or improve job skills in a way that is dynamic and engaging

  • Monitor, evaluate and document training and recruiting activities ensuring timeliness of projects

  • Oversee the evaluation of training materials prepared by instructors

  • Assess people, processes, and technology to ensure optimum productivity and efficiency of the department. Propose necessary changes

  • Follow all legal requirements for hiring employees, strive to continuously meet our Affirmative Action Plan goals and ensure that EEOC regulations are followed

  • Establish attainable and trackable individual and team goals for department, as well as establish personal goals with senior leader

  • Maintain employee records and approve time sheets

  • Recommend the employment, discipline, wage adjustments, and termination of personnel and conduct performance evaluations of employees

  • Maintain good working relationships with all employees

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Know and adhere to company policies and procedures

  • Ensure employees are following posted work schedule and adhering to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked

  • Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers

  • Keep senior leader informed of any problems and/or any issues that need attention

  • Plan and direct the work of all personnel that are within this manager's area of responsibility

  • Resolve conflict in a timely manner

  • Hire, motivate, and organize employees and their work so that everyone has clear direction and knows what is expected of them

  • Take disciplinary action when necessary

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, education or related field

  • Expertise with fundamental web development tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train others and run group meetings

  • Must have computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to motivate employees under direct supervision, evaluate performance and assist in personal and professional development

  • Some travel required for recruiting events or training sessions

  • Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company employees and customers

  • Capability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift

  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials

  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery

  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Skills

  • Three or more years of experience in creative communications, advertising, educational development and/or web site creation

  • Supervisory experience

  • Experience with course management systems and/or recruiting systems

  • Experience with graphic and web production tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, Flash, etc.)

  • Experience with video/audio capture and editing tools

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards's programs

  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and goals, and develop plans for achieving them, as well as work in a team environment.

  • Experience in communicating effectively on a departmental and cross-departmental basis

  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Enthusiastic personality
