Overview of the Role
Under general direction, responsible for internal employee communications, employee engagement and employer brand. Works closely with HR Leadership team to lead or support all HR related communications to employees. Partners with Marketing department on branding of all communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communicates employee programs and initiatives (topics include: benefits, compensation, performance management, professional development and others).
Drafts employee communications to be sent by the Co-Heads of Human Resources.
Researches and implements creative and innovative ways to communicate to employees.
Oversees and publishes HR related content on company intranet
Runs employee engagement programs such as annual employee survey, employee recognition, and long service awards.
Works with Marketing to produce videos promoting Janus Henderson as an employer of choice
Employs communications vehicles to maintain, reinforce and renew the Janus Henderson culture and values and a sense of community among our employees.
Oversees employer brand materials to position Janus Henderson as a great place to work; produce collateral that target potential candidates
Interacts with senior HR management to influence and drive employee communications decisions.
Assumes additional duties as assigned
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Brainstorm, identify and implement communications solutions that are tailored to the audience and situation; ability to think outside the box
Ability to work and make decisions independently and with tight deadlines
Ability to quickly process new information, discern key points and communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize and quickly shift priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong computer skills including excellent knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint; comfortable with technology and learning new applications. Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint or other web applications a plus
Three years of related experience in employee communications
Two years of experience managing and writing for a web site
Previous experience in a fast-changing environment with lean staffing and tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Strong research skills
Strong planning and coordination abilities
Ability to work comfortably with senior management
Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:
