JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Services existing book of business including being an advocate for clients with insurance carriers, third party administrators, service staff and professional resources.

  • Hold a minimum of 3 face-to-face meetings with large clients. Work through their annual renewal by providing alternatives, shopping the market when necessary, etc. Provides telephone and e-mail support to smaller clients through their renewal and for on-going service work. Spends at least 50% of time outside of the office on sales and service activities.

  • Sources prospects through a variety of means which may include but not limited to cold calling, warm calling, referrals, and partnering with Business Development Representative. Holds introductory interviews with businesses and organizations using ABRC's value added services and Strategic Selling methodology. Pursues prospects in the Sales Funnel and Best Few with a strategy for selling each account. Time spent on these activities will be more significant while growing book of business.

  • On a continuing basis, participates in sales training seminars and product knowledge workshops. Stays current and updates individual knowledge of insurance, finance and human resources by reading industry periodicals.

  • Maintains a solid understanding of all ABRC products and continually updates that knowledge.

  • Keeps current with all follow-up activities on prospects and clients.

  • Identify needs and refer customers to business partners within and across lines of business who can best meet those needs.

Primary Responsibilities: * Responsible for the accurate administration of the UnitedHealth Group's medical and prescription drug plans * Reviews communication for accuracy, detail and completeness. Works with business partners and human capital team members as needed to identify education needs * Interfaces directly with our benefit administration vendor to ensure plan details are set up correctly within our benefit administration system * Ensures communication and administrative processes facilitate effective service delivery * Ensure program policies, procedures, and provisions are documented, effective and followed. Recommends changes to reduce incidence of error * Maintains and fosters vendor/partner relationships including renewals, performance metrics, administration and compliance to optimize the economic value and employee experience * Resolves issues. Ensures consistent application of plan provisions and compliance with applicable laws and plan operations * Escalates issues to management team as needed to assure prompt and accurate resolution. Identifies root cause of issues and leads issue resolution efforts * Provides project leadership and support for annual open enrollment design changes, program recommendations, business integrations and other project work * Develops, executes, and supervises projects in partnership with human capital, legal, finance, accounting, payroll, communications, HRIS, and other company professionals * Fosters collaborative team relationships through regular internal or cross-functional projects and Subject Matter Expert participation You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience * 5 years of consulting, underwriting, plan sponsor or health care administration experience * Strong working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, HSA, and other benefit and regulatory requirements (CEBS or Health/Life licensure preferred) * Working knowledge of medical funding vehicles including fully insured and self-funded arrangements, stop loss, etc. * Knowledge of accountable care and physician coordinated plan operations * Experience working with health and wellness administration vendors, including building requirements, user-testing, and active and COBRA rate establishment * Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment * Self-directed analytic and problem solving skills * Excellent verbal and written skills, including facilitation and business case development * Strong time management, organization and project management skills UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
