Job Summary:
This is a critical position in our firm that gives an experienced Account Manager an opportunity to utilize a vast array of skills, develop new knowledge and grow in their career.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain a book of assigned clients ranging from 50 to 1,000 lives, both fully insured and potentially self-funded. For some accounts, this role will be the main relationship owner, and for others you will partner with a Benefit Consultant/Producer.
Partner with Benefit Consultants/Producer to meet with prospective clients and build relationships that result in prospects becoming clients
Design, communicate and implement new client employee benefit programs that reflect a level of service and professionalism
Negotiate terms and determine plans that will be included in new and renewal proposals.
Obtain necessary documents and communicate with client and carriers in order to finalize renewals. Obtain carrier approval, share approval with client and cancel old plans if necessary. Send SPD's and EOC's to clients.
Communicate and consult with clients on compliance requirements
Participate in insurance company and vendor meetings that enable you to both understand and stay abreast of developments in health, dental, life, disability, vision, and health savings account insurance products, wellness services and other products
Partner with your support team to create or update employee benefit communication materials, including but not limited to overviews, guides, and websites.
Partner with the client relative to their benefits systems and/or HRIS needs. Be a liaison for implementation or changes as needed.
Partner with your support team to answer employee questions across a broad spectrum of subjects including leave management, coverage, billing, claims, eligibility issues, section 125 plans.
Ensure the agency management system and document management system are current

Requirements:
Thoroughly enjoy taking great care of customers
Desire to manage a book of business and maintain relationships
Strong knowledge of insurance products and coverage.
Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
Strong ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to develop meaningful relationships with insurance carriers and with fellow employees
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Education/Experience:
High school diploma, college education preferred
Life and Health License required
Experience working in the CA benefits marketplace
Minimum 3 years of progressive employee benefits insurance experience (brokerage experience preferred). Large group (100+) experience required. Insurance designations a plus

Pay Details:
Annual Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
