Workiva is looking for a talented individual to actively participate in our fast-paced, results-driven team environment to join our Human Asset Management team. As an intern at Workiva, you will be a key contributor in the success of both employees and managers across Workiva's many departments.

What You'll Do:

  • Collects, reviews and processes pre-employment paperwork, including coordinating and reviewing background screenings in accordance with company policies

  • Enters new hire information and employee data changes into Human Resources Information System (HRIS)

  • Assists with tasks related to immigration processes including proper Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and documents required to successfully sponsor foreign-born workers for immigration benefits

  • Reviews payroll changes to ensure accurate payroll processing

  • Assists with updating and maintaining HRIS data

  • Responds to employee questions and requests

What You'll Need:

  • Ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

  • Acute attention to detail

  • Fantastic time management and organization skills

  • Available 15-20 hours during the spring semester

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, HR Management or related field

  • 3.0 or higher GPA

  • Junior or Senior preferred

VIEW JOBS 11/18/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-16T00:00 The Employee Administration Coordinator plays an integral part in supporting the new hire process, maintaining employee records and monitoring the overall data integrity of our most valued asset - our people! This role will also provide general HR Operations team support. What You'll Do: * Partner with Talent Acquisition team to ensure consistency and compliance in the recruitment process and facilitate successful onboarding of new hires * Generate offers of employment in a consistent manner * Process pre-employment paperwork, including conducting and verifying background screenings * Act as point of contact for candidates after verbal offer is accepted * Process new hire paperwork and accurately enter new hires into HRIS * Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools * Work with Legal and IT teams to ensure compliance with customer contractual requirements through employee tests including background, drug testing, fingerprinting, and credit checks * Perform tasks and maintain documents related to employee immigration in order for the company to successfully sponsor foreign-born workers * Process employee data changes efficiently and with an advanced level of detail * Assist internal teams by serving as a subject matter expert on employee data * Respond to employee inquiries, applying company policies fairly and consistently. What You'll Need: * A./B.S. degree in human resources, business, or related area is preferred. Applicable experience in lieu of education requirements is acceptable. * Hands-on experience providing employment support and guidance with an emphasis on benefits administration, employment practices management and support of other functional areas of employee administration preferred * HRIS experience (ADP) preferred * Understanding of workplace policies and procedures, and knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility * Proven effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats with all levels of the organization * Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to apply existing procedures to new situations * Able to work successfully in a high-energy, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment is required; must be able to multitask and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines * Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, capable of effective planning and priority setting Where You'll Work: We firmly believe our people are our greatest assets, and our unique culture gives employees the opportunity to not only make a difference, but BE the difference.
