Emergency Vehicle Technician

The City of Greer is accepting applications for an Emergency Vehicle Technician in the Fleet Division of our Administration Department.

Responsibilities: Installing equipment such as: radios, video systems, radars, wireless modems, center consoles, fabricated metal components, lights, sirens, speakers, antennas, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, K-9 Cages, other electrical components and equipment.

Custom installation of automotive products including public safety warning equipment , lighting, upgraded power supplies and inverters in police, fire, and other public safety vehicles. Interpret and create schematics. Possess fabrication skills; establish proper workflow based on assigned tasks; Drilling and cutting to properly mount equipment and components in or on vehicles; Fabricate brackets from aluminum and other material to install/mount equipment; Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle; Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment; Follow verbal and written instructions, drawings and schematics for installation of components. Assemble and Reassemble the interior and exterior components required for up fitting equipment on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUV's and trucks

Job Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or GED.

One (1) to three (3) years of experience or training in automotive/electrical installation and/or repair. Must have own tools and tool box. Must possess a valid state issued driver's license and able to pass drug screen and criminal/credit background check.

Salary: Minimum $46,233 annually; dependent on experience

Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, M-F; additional hours as needed.
