The Emergency Service Greeter performs clinical, Clerical and reception duties, in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Ocala Health. Provides quality care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Ocala Health.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs.

  • Participates in the unit based Quality Improvement process.

  • Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient's right to privacy and protection of patient's confidentiality.

  • Monitors and documents information regarding patient activities, as directed by the Registered Nurse.

  • Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate with administration, staff, physicians, and patients, and family, at all levels.

  • Knowledge of body substance isolation

  • Ability to use a computer and calculator

  • Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner's needs.

REQUIRED:

High school or equivalency

BLS ( American Heart )

PREFERRED:

Paramedic Training

Nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing courses

Military trained Medic/Corpsman

License Preferred:

Emergency Medical Paramedic

Certified Nursing Assistant

Less than on year secretary experience
