About you and this role -

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Services & Security (ES&S) Technician in Seadrift, Texas.

Works with Emergency Services & Security to maintain a high level of customer service throughout fire protection and emergency medical services. Networks with Seadrift Operations to optimize and define Emergency Services & Security.

This Emergency Services role ensures that emergency medical services are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the site. It is central to ensuring that ES&S will respond, which will create a safer environment for Seadrift Operations.

Responsibilities -

  • Primary EMT while on shift.

  • Able to respond to emergency events at the physical capacity of an Emergency Response Team member.

  • Operates and Performs inspection of all site Emergency Response equipment.

  • Fixed Fire Protection Inspection and repair.

  • To be trained and have the working knowledge to fill any role at an emergency including Incident Commander. A working knowledge and understanding of the Dispatch role.

  • Provides medical care to the injured and ill during emergency response situations.

  • Consults with the Medical Staff after hours as appropriate when treating injuries/illnesses. Notifies the Incident Commander when injured/ill personnel are to be transported to off site medical facilities.

  • The ES&S Tech maintains knowledge of the medical supplies and equipment in the ambulance.

  • Maintains knowledge of instrumentation and techniques for air monitoring at the emergency scene and may be asked to monitor to establish a Hot Zone.

  • Develops plans for rescue of personnel from safe and ventilation controlled spaces.

  • Works with all security personnel in the preparation of secure asset plans and the development of operating discipline to execute secure asset tasks.

Qualifications -

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED and one of the following:

  • 2 or more years of experience working in an industrial environment.

  • 2 or more years of full time emergency response (fire, EMS, law enforcement, hazmat).

  • Associate's degree or higher in related field, such as emergency services and security, EH&S, manufacturing or related degree. In lieu of a degree, Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience.

  • Minimum of EMT "B" License or willing to obtain an EMT "B" License within 9 months.

  • Able to work overtime as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills -

  • Security/Law Enforcement/Military training.

  • Manufacturing experience.

  • Previous participation on Emergency Response Team (Fire Fighter, EMT, Paramedic, Law Enforcement, or Military).

  • Formal rescue training (Confined Space Entry, etc.).
