Work Hours/Shift:

Part Time Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Performs a variety of direct patient care activities, such as drawing blood, performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests, and assisting with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures

  • Performs patient care tasks as assigned by registered nurses, supervisors, and physicians

  • Inspects and maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies. Restocks inventory to assist effective and efficient patient care in emergency rooms

  • Collects, reports, and documents clinical data, including vital signs, placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure results

  • Assists with transporting patients in and out of emergency rooms

  • Helps patients dress, and lifts/positions patients in order to appropriately complete procedure

  • Collects laboratory samples and, in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Documents all interactions in patient's medical

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • High School Grad or Equiv

  • EMT Certification Basic

  • Basic Life Support

  • CPR Cert

You Will Be Responsible For: * Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport, under the direction of the medical director and protocols * Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate * Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions * Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the general public * Monitors and anticipates needs for additional equipment and appropriately secures tools to meet patient care demands during transport * Operates emergency vehicles safely in a variety of weather and emergent conditions in accordance to established safety standards. Effectively communicates delays and updates to dispatch. Immediately reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor * Responsible for maintaining equipment between transports. Maintains the unit in a constant state of readiness * Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) * Ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete and is in compliance at all times * Completes medication, supplies and equipment inventories each shift, restocking as needed. Completes and submits logs as per department protocol * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications What You Will Need: * Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions * Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice * Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English * Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office * Graduated from an Paramedic program * * Associates of Science in health-related field preferred. * One-year experience emergency vehicle operations preferred. * Ambulance transport experience preferred. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification * Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification * Paramedic license required from the respective state board and/or respective state equivalent * Valid Class E State Driver's License (or comparable state license), or Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and driving record in accordance with facility policy * Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) (May be completed after hire) or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Job Summary: Provides patients with support treatment, care, and evaluations prior to and during transportation.
