Position Responsibilities:

• Provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Assigned to your area or Physician.

• Assists Registered Nurse and physicians with assessments, examinations and treatment

• Performs and assists with technical skills as defined in scope of practice

• Performs duties as in serviced, including crutch walking, dressing changes and assisting physician with splint or cast application

• Assists patients from vehicle into wheelchair or onto gurney, as need dictates

• Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations

• Maintains and prepares rooms between patients' procedures

• Assist with preparation of equipment procedures

• Perform 12 Lead EKG as ordered by physician

• Collect and label specimens accurately as ordered by physician

• Provides catheter care daily and/or as needed

• Reports any pertinent observations to RN

• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• BLS certification required.

• EMT, Paramedic and/or Medical Assistant license, preferred.

• Education: High School or equivalent. Graduation from a foreign medical and/or Medical Assistant program preferred.

• Up to 3 years of ER Technician experience preferred.

• Crisis Prevention Intervention training within first 3 months of employment.
